Crafting a Bespoke Coral-Inspired Matching Ring Set
Sitting directly alongside the natural coral specimen that inspired them, these bespoke bands showcase how organic textures can be preserved in solid, heavy-gauge 925 sterling silver. Designed as a dual set for male and female wearers, the pair shares an identical design DNA while scaling gracefully to fit different band widths and hand proportions.
The Production Process: From Organic Concept to Finished Casting
Capturing the deep, irregular cell structure of natural coral requires specialized artisan techniques that machine stamping cannot achieve.
- Master Wax Carving: Our artisans hand-carved the initial master model in jewelry wax, replicating the porous depths and asymmetrical cell walls of the natural stone.
- Vacuum Lost-Wax Casting: The carved wax models were cast into high-purity, 100% nickel-free 925 sterling silver inside our Bali based studio, using investment casting to ensure exact metal density and structural durability.
- Oxidation & Contrast Polishing: To accentuate the deep coral recesses, we applied a dark oxidation treatment inside each cell. The outer rim peaks and inner bands were then polished to a mirror shine, highlighting the high-contrast relief.
- Comfort-Fit Interior: Despite the rugged, tactile exterior, the interior of each band is engineered with smooth, rounded edges for daily wearability.
